Kappa Kappa Gamma
Founded at Creighton University in the Spring of 2005, Kappa Kappa Gamma is the youngest Greek organization on campus. An abundance of energy and enthusiasm drives this young chapter as it discovers its place in Creighton’s Greek Community. Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded in 1870 at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, making Kappa Kappa Gamma one of the oldest women’s Greek letter organizations in existence today. This Tradition of Leadership drives our Fraternity towards the pursuit of things higher and nobler and all things that are fine in life, thought and character. Kappa Kappa Gamma has a commitment to Service, Leadership, Scholarship, and Sisterhood. As Creighton’s community rests upon these four pillars, so does Kappa Kappa Gamma. Kappa is partnered nationally with Reading is Fundamental; the world’s largest literacy organization. The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation supports its members through merit and need-based scholarships, emergency aid, and educational programming. Nearly $1 million in scholarships and aid were provided to Kappa Kappa Gamma members last year alone. The Eta Iota Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is just one of our 134 chapters that span the United States and Canada. Eta Iota is most closely supported by a booming Omaha Alumnae Association; one of approximately 350 Alumnae Associations that span the globe. Locally, Kappa Kappa Gamma can provide a welcoming “home away from home” for any woman who wants to pursue new avenues, challenge conventional wisdom, and seek a leadership organization whose main goal is the success of each individual member. Members of Kappa Kappa Gamma can support each other and learn about themselves while participating in philanthropic endeavors, social events, academic pursuits, and leadership opportunities.
